the baby bird

may 14!? may 14!? my last post was that long ago? sad day. i have been using my online time on myspace. I apologize, blogger world. :)

So my latest adventure...

my dad and i were eating lunch on the veranda yesterday when we heard a scrambling above us on the plastic roof. it appeared to be a baby bird trying to get under the wooden part of the roof to get away from the baking heat. it couldn't fly but had almost all of its feathers and was decently big. i obviously couldnt reach it but i read my book on the veranda and kept my eye on him. after a while i went inside but kept checking to see if he had moved. in the late afternoon i came out and i couldn't see him anymore, "oh good," i thought, "he's moved up higher on the roof. maybe his parents will rescue him." I went online to see what to do for a baby bird and the official site i found said that the human scent thing is a myth and parents birds will accept a baby if it has been handled by humans. you are supposed to put the birdy in a box or fake nest and put him as close the the nest as possible. anyway, i went back outside and saw my cat playing with something on the ground. yes, it was the baby birdy. he had fallen of the roof. i chased my kitty away and then picked up the bird. oh, he was so tiny and cute! his wings and neck weren't broken but he ws definitely in shock. i held him for a while while i made him a little nest in a box and then i climbed out my bedroom window onto the roof (thats where the nest is) and sat down under the nest. when he smelled the bird poop, he opened his eyes and fluttered his wings a little but didn't do it again. I petted him and then put him in the box nest right under the nest. This morning he was dead. I guess that's the way nature must go. poor baby bird. i'm sad he had to die. :(

First off, it's really sad that now you're more of a MySpace junkie than ever before! Ha! Well, actually it isn't . . . if you go on there and update THERE. ;]

Secondly, that's so sad about the birdie! =[

I love you, hope you're having a great time at camp!

I'm really glad we match way more than I thought we did, or used to. Lately it's just so hard for me to find someone who matches so very particularly. :]

I think it's true too Rachel, just hone in on whatever you like best! God is so cool like that, to give us options. =] Also, to those who are faithful with a few talents, He gives more, isn't that rad? All we have to do is use what He's given us! I'm sure it's impossible for us to actually do /every/thing we're good at /full/time, but, I think if we just acknowledge it that counts too. =]

I love that userID, the first time I saw it I thought, "Wow, that is so true. Because that's what we always have to do, you know?" It's kind of like "singing in the rain," "dancing in the downpour" they sound so perfectly surrendered. Not even thinking about anything else, like you just had to close your eyes and just dance around in the rain, or His presence.

I love you Rachel, I'll "MySpace" something to you soon. ;]
